Clyburn was one of the first Air Lords of the floating citadel of Kragis’Aer to be born on the prime material plane in over a thousand years. Though young, he has earned the moniker “Professor” from his peers for both a logical and intelligent mind, and his skill in the new art of alchemy. Though he has latent magical abilities like most Air Lords, he has channeled his energies towards mastering alchemy, becoming somewhat of a loner among his people by doing so.

He first met Bronin Dohari while studying under the master alchemist Istariel Kithraden, and became friends not so much because of shared intellect, but rather because they were both considered outsiders. When Bronin entered the Tournament of Lords Clyburn joined him and lent his powerful intellect to the challenges they faced. He has remained at his side and entered the Greenbelt from both a curiosity to explore and to gather rare alchemical components to further his art.

As the nation of Syradel formed Clyburn at first assumed the role of spymaster for Bronin, but his knowledge and education made him the only person suitable as a Magister and for the time being he has suffered the tedious duties of that role instead.
